Spider-Man fans were astounded to finally see Michael Morbius in this latest teaser for the new film, Morbius; If you’re not familiar with Morbius then don’t worry, let’s get you up to speed.
Appearing in Issue One Hundred One of The Amazing Spider-Man, created by Roy Thomas and penciler Gil Kane, Michael Morbius was an award-winning biochemist, but he had a rare blood disorder and one day, he was working on a biochemical experiment to try to cure his blood disorder and the experiment failed, giving Morbius the Pseudo-Vampiric Superhuman abilities and physical traits; one that would require Supernatural means. Even though he started as one of Spider-Man’s horror-based Rogues, he eventually became a Anti-Hero.
From what we got to see was two links to the MCU/Sony Partnership, the first one was the poster of Spider-Man with the words “MURDERER” on it (a reference from the recent film Far from Home) and of course at the very end of the trailer of an appearance of the Vulture (played by Michael Keaton). Fans finally get their wish of Batman and the Joker together on the same screen, but only Marvel. Also, on another funny note, with Robert Pattinson being the former vampire becoming the Batman for DC, now we’re getting Jared Leto, the former Joker becoming a Vampire for Marvel; Equivalent Exchange? You be the judge.
