Also a reminder for fans of SAGA, SAGA Compendium will be on sale, it collects Issue 1 through 54. All Synopsises and Information (Including Pictures) are provided from Comic List and TFAW! Here is our picks for this week:

DC Black Label: Superman Year One #2
Writer: Frank Miller
Penciler: John Romita Jr.
“Clark Kent’s journey of self-discovery continues in the second installment of Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.’s remarkable reimagining of Superman’s origin story. This chapter takes young Clark to the Pacific coast and beyond, as he discovers a place as sensational as he is…Atlantis! There he meets new people, finds love, clashes with gargantuan beasts, and discovers the man he’s meant to be.“
Red: DC Black Label’s Superman Year One makes it on our pick list this time, there has been some criticism regarding Frank Miller’s take on Superman, but in my opinion, I have always been a sucker for a good Superman story and enjoyed the first issue. Let’s see how Clark will handle the life of being a Marine.

Batman #77
Written by: Tom King
Penciled by: Tony S. Daniel
‘City of Bane’ continues! The last of the independent villains are on the run, leaving Gotham City entirely to Bane and his cronies-including Flashpoint Batman and Gotham Girl! Though this means a semblance of peace on the streets, the iron grip of tyranny is squeezing all life out of Gotham. And with Bane’s machinations keeping other heroes out, the city really needs the Batman to return. Is Bruce Wayne ready to face his toughest foes yet…his father and the man who broke his back?
Red: Tom King has been doing a fantastic job on Batman, one of the best things about the ‘City of Bane’ story is that it brings Bane back as a real threat to the Dark Knight. Then bringing in Thomas Wayne from Flashpoint to making it a triple threat! The Dark Knight vs The Man who broke the Bat’s Back vs The Man who broke the Bat Psychologically!

Valkyrie: Jane Foster #2
Written By: Al Ewing, Jason Aaron
“INTRODUCING THE GOD OF THE KILL – BULLSEYE! The deadliest shot in the Marvel Universe just got his hands on the sword of a god! With the Asgardian weapon Dragonfang, Bullseye has the power to kill a god in a single stroke – and he’s about to prove it. Jane Foster, the newly christened Valkyrie, must learn a hard lesson: Not every death can be prevented. Who is next on Bullseye’s list – and what is the assassin after?“
Red: Her time as Thor was outstanding, now we’re getting to see her as Valkyrie; but will it be cut short because of Bullseye? As a Godkiller? Sounds strange but Marvel isn’t a stranger towards strange things.

Livewire #9
Written by: Vita Ayala
Penciled by: Tana Ford, Kris Anka (Variant Cover Artist)
‘Hero’ begins here! Wanted fugitive Livewire has been on the run for months from the authorities for shutting down the country’s power in an effort to protect people gifted with powers. Will a shocking offer to go public pull Livewire into a political spotlight?
Red: Valiant is one of the Comic Publishers on the Market that always had a unique Comic line up, but this time Livewire made the list for our Picks of the week; with a new storyline for new readers to jump in and check out. We recently covered Livewire’s New Variant Covers in a recent article.

Ghost-Spider #1
Written by: Seanan McGuire
Penciled by: Takeshi Miyazawa
“GWEN STACY MAKES HER WAY TO THE MARVEL UNIVERSE! With a cloud of infamy hanging over her head on Earth-65, GWEN STACY now travels to Earth-616 for superhero action… and school?! The newest student at ESU is about to get a crash course in multiversity as she splits her time between the world she loves and the world she’s just getting to know! But what devious villain has eyes on Gwen’s travels? Is Gwen ready for what comes next?“
Red: Another Character that was popular in both the book and movie versions of Spider-Verse was Gwen Stacy as Ghost-Spider (Aliases Spider-Woman, Spider-Gwen). And she made it onto our Picklist for this week, but it makes me curious to know if Gwen will play a role in Absolute Carnage due to wearing a Symbiote in her universe.
