PLEASE NOTE: Rankings reflect sales for April 2023

We’re jumping into May, and things are heating up for this month’s New York Times Best Sellers List For Graphic Novels and Manga. April saw the return of Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia and Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen, but they are nowhere to be found. Eiichiro Oda‘s One Piece Volume 102 landed at No. 7, bringing the Battle for Wano to the Top 15. Next up was Naoya Matsumoto‘s Kaiju No. 8 surprisingly landed at No. 8 (What a Clever Move!), and finally, Tatsuya Endo‘s Spy X Family Volume 9 landed at No. 13, which dropped ten spots from April.

The Graphic Novel section is all about Young Readers. As Dav Pilkey’s Dog-Man and Cat-Kid stories have dominated the chart for another month, and IDW’s TMNT: The Last Ronin is back for another round, taking No. 11. Also, on a related note to The Last Ronin, Speedokaggen is hard at work with a sequel to their first fan animation.

Luffy is back to face Kaido once again, but does he stand any more of a chance in this rematch against the strongest man alive? On other parts of the island, Sanji and Zolo go up against Kaido’s strongest warriors. Both will need to raise their fighting skills in order to overcome these adversaries!
