One Piece has made history once again, Eiichiro Oda’s Adventure/Fantasy Shonen manga has surpassed 500 million copies printed (physically) and sold (digitally) around the world, making it the first manga to ever do so, and the first comic to do so from a single author and the second book series to mark this milestone from a single author! Truly Remarkable!

The official One Piece Twitter account announced the news today as the 103rd volume of the series was released in Japan, taking into account the 3 million copies in the first print run for the volume.
