Mappa’s 10th Anniversary Stage Show


Hello again and welcome to a very special edition of the News Round-Up, today we’re going to be looking at the biggest announcements from Mappa’s 10th Anniversary Stage Presentation. Fans were amazed and star-struck to learn of the release of the Promotional Video for Chainsaw Man, which alone got over 7 Million Views according to Anime Corner. Let’s look into what will be coming soon and the Stage Event!

To Commemorate the occassion, a new visual was released and features some of the most popular characters from MAPPA anime, such as Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kakegurui, Yuri on Ice, and Dororo.

Zombieland SAGA: REVENGE

Recently, the latest season came to an end, and fans eagerly awaiting any sign for news of another season or possibly a Movie Announcement, but sadly there was no such announcement.

The ladies of Franchouchou took the stage for the Event, the cast promoted a brand new event that is set to take place in October at the Makuhari Messe Event Hall called “Makuhari Messe 2 days“. In addition to the cast, Kana Hanazawa will be making an appearance as well.

With the premiere coming up on July 22nd, 2021, Voice actresses Romi Park and Megumi Ogata were guests on the stage, along with the director Seimei Kidokoro.

A new trailer for the upcoming anime is also available, along with the cast listing. Tatsuya Kitani (Mob Psycho 100 II, Sirius the Jaeger) will perform the opening theme song “Seija no Kōshin” (Parade of Saints).

Idaten Deities in the Peaceful Generation is adapted from the manga by the same name, written by Amahara and illustrated by Coolkyoushinja.

This Original Television Anime will be making its premiere on July 3rd, also premiering on TV Asahi’s NUMAnimation block and Funimation. Yuto Uemura (Minato’s voice actor), Masafumi Nishida (chief director, original creator, series composition), and Kiyoshi Matsuda (director) spoke about the upcoming anime.

Unfortunately, this was another series that fans would be hoping for new information on both a new season and for the upcoming prequel movie but Voice actors Asami Seto, Junya Enoki, and Yuma Uchida talked about their experiences and favorite scenes. A producer for the series, Keisuke Seshita was also a guest.

LeSean Thomas was also at the event, sharing his story of moving to Japan to work on Anime, also talking about his inspiration for Yasuke. He also spoke about working for Mappa as a director and compared the production process to the one in the US.

As a reminder for fans of the Yasuke series, it will be getting a Manga Adaption and will debut in Shogakukan’s Monthly Spirits Magazine, the series will involve Mangaka Satoshi Okunishi and will debut on July 27th.

There weren’t any guests for this presentation but revealed that MAPPA and MADHOUSE are coproducing this series, it will be premiering October 5th, 2021.

According to Anime Corner, it is an Original Work by Oji Hiori and DeNa. Yuki Ito is directing the anime, while Reiko Nagasawa is in charge of character designs. In addition, Yoshihiro Ike is composing the music. While this is an Anime, it also has a Video Game.

Set in New York City, in the year 2047. The world was destroyed in a war with a mysterious monster D2, which was created out of Black Night Meteorite that fell from the sky. Magical girls, “Musicarts” fight against the monster, while being led by the “Conductor”. Their goal is to bring music back to the destroyed world.”

Here we are at one of the most anticipated panels in the Stage Show, Part Two of the hit anime series Attack on Titan: The Final Season, and unfortunately the only thing that was offered was a Teaser Visual. But regardless, they also had guests in the panel, Yuki Kaji, Marina Inoue, and Ayane Sakura were guests, along with Yuichiro Hayashi (the director) and Kohta Yamamoto (the composer).

Here we are, the star of the Stage Show, Tatsuki Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man. Speaking at the panel was the Manga’s Editor, Shihei Lin, and MAPPA president Manabu Otsuka. Also, Fujimoto answered questions via recording.

During the Promotional Video, it revealed the cast involved: Ryu Nakayama will be in charge of directing the project, Hiroshi Seko is the Screenwriter, Kazutaka Sugiyama handling the position of Character Design, Makoto Nakazano is chief technical director. Finally, Kensuke Ushio will compose the music.

UPDATE: Accomplishing quite an amazing feat by the release of the Promotional Video received over 7 Million Views shortly under 11 hours after its premiere. Also, today it has been confirmed that the manga surpassed 11 million copies sold (digitally) and printed (physically) – and that’s only with 11 volumes released in Japan according to Crunchyroll’s Daryl Harding, Fujimoto also confirmed that it will be getting a one-shot manga on the Jump+ digital service on July 19th.

This is MAPPA’s very first Original Anime Movie, “Arisu no Teresi no Maboroshi Koujou” (Alice and Therese’s Illusion Factory), Director Mari Okada gives fans an explanation of what their newest film is about, “[It] is a story about boys and girls struggling in an ambiguous world fighting their destiny with “love” as a weapon.” She said it’s a team she can trust, and she looks forward to a movie that can only be done with them. She also said it’s a long way off, but that she’d like to deliver it to everyone soon.
