Heads up, we’re reviewing another Web Series from the team that brought you the Hazbin Hotel that is called ‘Helluva Boss!‘ And in this new series, we follow a team of Imps who start an Assassin Business in Hell; sounds like a promising Job Opportunity right? Well, it is off to a weird start as we’re introduced to Four new Characters: Blitzo the founder and manager of I.M.P. (Immediate Murder Professionals) who has a short-sided ego but also wants what’s best for his Business. Then we have Moxxie, an Imp who can be a coward at times but he is an I.M.P.S Weapon Specialist, who is married to our third protagonist named Millie who has sadistic tendencies and is brutal, also serves as the I.M.P.S. Bruiser. Then there is the best for last, as Blitzo would like to say as we meet the receptionist for this establishment named Loona; a Hellhound who can be short-tempered, emotionally conflicted and will take out her rage on anything in front of her. But without further ado, let’s get down to our review!

Helluva Boss Trailer

One of the things I would like to describe this new series is, and that it is random and one of the most nostalgic experiences that have been produced, saying this because there are moments during this twelve-minute pilot is that we’re seeing Loona being rude and obnoxious, especially toward her coworkers Millie and Moxxie. The banter between Moxxie and Loona is reminiscent of Billy and Mandy from the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy; while Loona and Moxxie aren’t friends she is apathetic towards her colleagues while Moxxie (voiced by veteran voice actor Richard Horvitz) is a far cry of Billy and strongly dislikes her. One of the other things that work for this series is the humor, whether it is raunchy or slapstick this has fans talking about it and craving more; the idea of a ritualistic book is a nice touch, it is clear to see that Vivienne Medrano and her crew have done extensive research in getting the atmosphere and the demons involved in this new comedy about Hell and for her franchise The Hazbin Hotel.

With this new pilot of Helluva Boss premiering before Thanksgiving, it is safe to say that this is a welcoming addition to Vivienne Medrano and the Hazbin Hotel’s wild new Hellverse. If you would like to check out our review for Hazbin Hotel, click here!
