Gaikotsu Shotenin Honda-san Anime Review

In my first Series review, I decided to stick with a favorite of mine, and that is Gaikotsu Shotenin Honda-san! The manga and anime are based on a real-life experience of the author (who’s also the main character of this show) during his days as a Book store Employee; like the manga, it follows a day in the life of a Book Store as the employees and Honda explains how the Book Store works.

One of the things that spoke out to me was the fact of how it PERFECTLY describes working in retail! The crazy customers, the descriptions for certain items the customers are looking for, and of course the perilous tasks of handling day-to-day tasks given to them from Corporate, Managers, and District Managers.

The emotions may have been exaggerated, but in most cases when you have worked in retail, it is pretty common to see expressions such as these that were displayed during each episode.

The Employees, you can’t have a good show without a good cast, in this case, Honda San’s crew. Hotai, Lantern, Kamiburko, Ko-omete, Rabbit Head, Fullface, Gasmask, Armor and Pest mask. The dynamic friendship of Honda and Kamiburko is one of the many highlights of the show, the silly battles between Lantern and the merchandisers.. Comedy gold.

If you’re looking for a good slice of life, comedy then this is the perfect show for you or for someone wanting to get started watching Anime.
