Following up from a previous announcement, the upcoming revival exhibition “Eternal Spirits- Go Nagai GO! Wonderland Revival” will be heading to Tokyo in October 2027.
At this time, there are no new details about the event in Tokyo. But the Exhibition will be first taking place at the Museum of Kyoto starting on Saturday, November 28th to Monday, January 11th, 2027. It will feature Nagai’s original drawings, manuscripts, and figures that were on display when the Go Nagai Memorial museum opened, including new manga works that he drew specifically for the exhibition.

The Noto Peninsula Earthquake, The Destruction of the Go Nagai Memorial Museum, and a Miraculous Discovery
On January 1, 2024, a devastating 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck the Noto Peninsula, severely damaging Wajima City—home of legendary manga creator Go Nagai and his Memorial Museum. The museum is permanently closed at this time, due to the building being destroyed in a fire—Miraculously, many of the original exhibits did survive the fire.

According to the exhibition’s official website, the exhibits were widely believed lost after the earthquake and fire. However, the museum’s original fire-prevention measures preserved 108 of Nagai’s original artworks and figures inside the blackened building, allowing pieces such as the large Great Mazinger statue to be salvaged.
