A special JuJutsu Kaisen Festival event took place in Japan a couple of weeks ago, which celebrated the 5th anniversary of the JUJUTSU KAISEN anime, a brand-new teaser for the Culling Game Arc was released, giving fans a taste of what they can expect in the upcoming fourth season.
There are changes to the staff, starting with Takeru Sato taking over directorial duties for the fourth season while Shota Goshozono moves up to chief director at studio MAPPA. Hiroshi Seko will continue to write the series composition, while Yosuke Yajima and Hiromi Niwa will be on character design, will also be joined by Sota Yamazaki, and Yoshimasa Teuri composing the music.

Jujutsu Kaisen (呪術廻戦) is written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from March 2018 to September 2024, with its chapters collected into 30 tankōbon volumes. In 2019, Viz Media licensed the series for English-language release and has been publishing the manga in print since December 2019. Shueisha also publishes the series digitally in English on its Manga Plus platform. Since its debut, it has grown into one of the biggest media franchises in anime and manga, spawning a hit TV anime adaptation, stage plays, and video games. The franchise originated with the 2017 four-chapter prequel Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School (later collected as Jujutsu Kaisen 0). Following the main series’ conclusion, Akutami collaborated with illustrator Yūji Iwasaki on the short sequel Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo (2025–2026), set decades later and spanning three volumes.
Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.
