MAPPA held its 15th Anniversary Stream on YouTube on June 19th, revealing two new projects while sharing updates on several of its major titles. The event also premiered a special anniversary music video for “Seikatsu” (“Life”), a song written by PEOPLE 1 to commemorate the studio’s 15th anniversary.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 4: ‘The Culling Game’ Pt. 2:
Starting the stream was JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 4, Culling Game Arc Part 2, which included a brand-new trailer that teased some of the upcoming fights. It was confirmed that Takeru Sato, who served as the assistant director of Season 3, will direct the new season. Shota Goshozono’s role is listed as chief director. The fourth season is currently in production. Jujutsu Kaisen is available now to watch on Crunchyroll, and on Blu-ray. The manga is available now at your local book store and online, you can also read the individual chapters on Shueisha’s Manga Plus and Viz Media’s Shonen Jump app.
Fall in Love, You False Angels

MAPPA announced a new anime adaptation of Coco Uzuki’s Fall in Love, You False Angels (恋せよまやかし天使ども). Based on the award-winning Shojo manga, it follows Otogi Katsura, a girl admired by everyone around her as the perfect high school beauty. Determined to maintain that flawless image at all times, Otogi carefully hides her true personality from those around her. Fall in Love, You False Angels (the manga) is available now in Print and Digital, and the individual chapters are simultaneously published on KMANGA.

BEAT & MOTION

MAPPA announced the anime adaptation of Naoki Fujita’s BEAT & MOTION manga series. A new teaser visual and video were revealed during the stream, including that it will stream worldwide and exclusively on Netflix. The story follows aspiring animator Tatsuhiko Hirayama and independent musician Nico Kashiwagi as they partner to confront their dreams and insecurities. The manga series took part in SHUEISHA’s MILLION TAG Competition, and was serialized on the Shonen Jump + Digital Manga app from February 2023 to January 2025, with its individual chapters collected into six volumes.

JIMOTO SAIKO! (The Hometown is the Best!)

A surprise project announcement was Usagi’s JIMOTO SAIKO! (The Hometown is the Best!) being adapted into a anime series. Keep in mind, this is a Dark Comedy/Slice-of-life series that focuses on more impoverished parts of society. The series will stream worldwide exclusively on Netflix. The story follows Chanel and the people around her in what is described as her “best” hometown, surrounded by close friends and seniors. JIMOTO SAIKO! Is a manga series created by Usagi and is published by Saizusha, each individual chapter is compiled into eight volumes as of August 2025.
