The official website for Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia anime has released the second promotional video (PV) and a striking new key visual for the upcoming TV series based on Tomato Soup’s historical manga A Witch’s Life in Mongol. The latest trailer comes with major voice cast announcements, including Ami Koshimizu as Töregene, as the Science SARU production prepares for its July 4, 2026 premiere with a one-hour special featuring Episodes 1 and 2.
Another thing the promotional video previewed was the new opening theme, performed by the J-POP Band, SEKAI NO OWARI titled “Stella.” Finally, aside from an updated cast list, it included an updated staff list which is listed below.

Newly Announced Cast (Left to Right):
- Jochi- The eldest son of Emperor Genghis Khan.
- Kenji Nojima (Dr. Stone, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, Sailor Moon Crystal)
- Töregene- Ögedei’s sixth wife who harbors a deep hatred for the Mongol Empire and sees her husband as an enemy.
- Ami Koshimizu (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Sailor Moon Crystal, Gameoverse)
- Ögedei- The third son of Emperor Genghis Khan.
- Hiro Shimono (My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba)
- Chagatai- The second son of Emperor Genghis Khan
- Daisuke Namikawa (Engine Sentai Go-onger, One Piece, Fairy Tail)
The new voice cast additions will join the previously announced ensemble featuring Akira Sekine as Sitara, Houko Kuwashima as Fatima, Jun Saitō as Muhammad, Miyu Irino as Shira, and Ryōta Suzuki as Tolui. On the production side, Naoko Yamada (A Silent Voice, The Heike Story, The Colors Within) serves as chief director alongside director Abel Góngora (DAN DA DAN Season 2, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off). Science SARU’s team also includes character designer and animation chief Kenichi Yoshida (Eureka Seven, Gundam: Reconguista in G), series composer Kanichi Katō (Black Clover, The Eminence in Shadow), and musician Kōshirō Hino handling the score.
The anime will be premiering in July in the “IMAnimation W” programming block on TV Asahi and 23 of its affiliated channels, as well as on BS Asahi. Previously it was announced that the anime will be screened in competition at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France in the TV Films category.

A Witch’s Life In Mongol (天幕のジャードゥーガル) was illustrated and written by Tomato Soup. It began serialization on Akita Shoten’s Souffle website in September 2021. As of April 2025, the series’ individual chapters have been collected in five tankōbon volumes. On March 24, 2025, the manga series moved to a bimonthly status until the summer of 2025 and entered into a hiatus due to Soup’s maternity leave. Since its debut, A Witch’s Life in Mongol has received praise from publications such as Da Vinci and Real Sound Magzine were praising the setting and characters, particularly the villains, which Furukawa felt were realistic. The series was also nominated for the 16th Manga Taishō in 2023, and was also nominated for the 17th Manga Taishō in 2024. It also includes nominations from the 2023 edition of the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook’s list of the top manga for female readers, the series ranked first. The 2024 edition‘s list, the series ranked 11th. And finally, was nominated at the Japan Society and Anime NYC’s second American Manga Awards for Best New Manga in 2025. During New York Comic-Con 2024, Yen Press announced that they licensed the series for English publication.
