A hardboiled crossover decades in the making! Detective Conan and Star Detective Precure! are teaming up in a rare two-way collaboration between different studios and networks.
The fun kicks off in Star Detective Precure! Episode 18, titled “The Great Detective Assemble” (JP: 名探偵の共演). Anna and her friends are helping prepare an exhibition by glass artist Misako Shindo at the Hosho Museum. The centerpiece is a stunning glass slipper called “The Forgotten Item at 12 O’Clock.” But when the delivery cart arrives, dozens of glass slippers suddenly spill out! They turn out to be resin fakes, and in the ensuing chaos, the real slipper vanishes.Suspecting the work of the Phantom Thieves, Anna and Mikuru begin investigating outside the museum. Their search leads them straight to Edogawa Conan, Ran Mouri, and Kogoro Mouri, who are visiting Makotomirai City. The episode airs on May 31 at 8:30 PM JST. Star Detective Precure is available to watch on Crunchyroll.
Meanwhile, the crossover continues in a special episode of Detective Conan titled “A Hanamaru Truth Answer” (JP: 花丸トゥルースアンサー / “The Flower Seal Answer”). Conan and the Detective Boys are caught up in a series of jewelry robberies in Beika Town. After Ayumi hears about the string of thefts, she excitedly connects the case to the Precure anime she’s currently obsessed with — believing that a band of thieves might bring a real Precure to the scene. The team is assigned to guard Kaneko Jewelry Store, rumored to be the next target. They successfully catch the thieves, but Ayumi soon begins to feel uneasy… This episode is scheduled to air on June 6, 2026, at 6:00 PM JST.

Were there other Precure Crossovers?
This crossover marks a rare inter-studio, network-spanning TV collaboration for the Precure franchise, following the successful 2024 two-way crossover with Crayon Shin-chan. While the franchise is no stranger to team-ups — thanks to the long-running Pretty Cure All Stars movie series that unites past and present Cures — seeing Edogawa Conan and Cure Answer swap worlds feels especially fresh given the shared “detective” motif of Star Detective Precure!The series also has deep roots in Toei’s tokusatsu family. Precure and Super Sentai have long been sister franchises under the Super Hero Time block. Although Super Sentai concluded its 50-year run in early 2026 and its slot is now occupied by Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity, the two have had light crossovers in the past — most notably a fun dance sequence team-up in the 2020 Super Sentai Movie Party, plus earlier audio dramas pairing the original Cures with Dekaranger and Magiranger.
Detective Conan (名探偵コナン), created by Gosho Aoyama, has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday since January 1994. Its chapters have been collected into 108 tankōbon volumes as of April 2026. The series was adapted into a long-running anime by TMS Entertainment that premiered in January 1996 and has surpassed 1,200 episodes as of 2026. It has also spawned 29 theatrical films (with the latest, Detective Conan: Fallen Angel of the Highway, released in April 2026), numerous OVAs, specials, and video games — making it one of Japan’s most enduring and successful detective franchises.Due to trademark issues with the name “Detective Conan,” the series is known as Case Closed in North America. Viz Media has licensed the manga, publishing it in print and digital since 2004, and also handles the Case Closed branding for the anime.
