Kazuya’s Rental Romance Hits Tubi: Live-Action Rent a Girlfriend Is Now Available to Stream

If you enjoy the Rent-a-Girlfriend anime or the manga, I have some great news for you. The live-action TV series adaptation of Reiji Miyajima’s Kanojo, Okarishimasu (彼女、お借りします) has found a new streaming home for English-speaking audiences — Tubi quietly added the full series to its library.

The Japanese drama premiered on July 2–3, 2022, airing on the Asahi Broadcasting Corporation (ABC TV) on Sundays at 11:55 p.m. JST, with additional late-night broadcasts on TV Asahi. The series features a strong lead cast, including Ryusei Onishi of Naniwa Danshi as Kazuya Kinoshita, Hiyori Sakurada as Chizuru Mizuhara, Aika Sawaguchi as Sumi Sakurasawa, Mio Kudō as Ruka Sarashina, and Shiori Akita as Mami Nanami.

Behind the scenes, the production is led by directors Daisuke Yamamoto (Ossan’s Love franchise) and Kazuki Kon, with scripts written by Kumiko Asō (Marumo no Okite) and an original score composed by Yūki Munakata. The series is still available to stream on Hulu in Japan, and consists of 10 episodes.

Rent-a-Girlfriend (彼女、お借りします) is a highly popular romantic comedy manga written and illustrated by Reiji Miyajima. Serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since July 2017, the series has sold millions of copies worldwide and has been compiled into 45 tankōbon volumes as of April 2026. Kodansha USA licensed the manga in North America in June 2020 and releases English chapters simultaneously on the KMANGA app. The franchise has expanded into a successful TV anime currently in its fifth season, a popular live-action drama series, a spin-off manga (Rent-a-(Really Shy!)-Girlfriend), a visual novel video game, and a crossover smart game.
