It’s time for another round of This Week In The Nerd Fandom. Sorry for the delay in our roundups, but I have been busy behind the scenes with launching a brand new YouTube Channel for Red’s Nerd Den. Marvel Announces The Death Of Ms. Marvel, Alienating their Fans in the Process

It’s that time again. Everyone’s favorite film is getting a sequel, How to Kill A Franchise In 10 Days! First, it was Wizards of the Coast. Now, it is Marvel who is the main focus of this feature film. Now, it’s the basic marketing formula for Superhero Comics, kill off a popular hero, leave them on the sideline for a while, and then bring them back before their big film. Sounds simple, right? No. Because you decided to kill off a fan-favorite hero in someone else’s book, then to make it worse, you killed her during AAPI month, and now, you have made your fans extremely pissed off and saying it was a sexist and racist trope to use.

After the shocking events of Amazing Spider-Man #26, saw Kamala Khan has been a supporting character in Zeb Well’s and John Romita Jr’s Spidey Book. Much to the dismay of many, she made the ultimate sacrifice to save the entire Marvel Universe! The story is set to continue in a special one-shot titled Fallen Friend: The Death of Ms. Marvel, it brings Ms. Marvel Creator G. Willow Wilson, Saladin Ahmed, and Mark Waid together with artists HUMBERTO RAMOSTAKESHI MIYAZAWA, and ANDREA DI VITO. It is set to go on sale on July 12th.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles Flexes Its Muscles And Star Power for New English Dub!

Mashle: Magic and Muscles is getting an English Dub and a great cast lineup. The dub is set to premiere on May 26th, and here are the actors that will be voicing those magical misfits: Mash (Aleks Le), Lance (Stephen Fu), Finn (Brian Anderson), Lemon (Anjali Kunapaneni), and Dot (Ben Diskin).

Himiko Toga Takes Center Stage In Newest My Hero Academia Manga Volume Cover

The action is about to be taken up a notch in the upcoming volume of My Hero Academia. Himiko Toga takes center stage in this beautifully drawn cover, and fans in Japan will be able to purchase this volume on June 2nd, 2023.

Ken Akamatsu Introduces Manga Diplomacy!

Cartoonist/Manga Creator/Member of the House of Councilors Of Japan, Ken Akamatsu, is taking part in the G7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan. And he brings with him a new form of diplomacy, calling it Manga Diplomacy. In his new series, he presented various leaders who visited the summit with a portrait on a mission to deepen friendship through Japanese Anime and Manga. The Billy Kametz 120 Star Challenge Raises Over $15k for the Colon Cancer Coalition

It has been almost a year since the passing of the beloved voice actor Billy Kametz. His legacy lives on in animation and the many lives he has touched, and thanks to his childhood friends, they are honoring him by having a charity video game stream of Super Mario 64, and the proceeds go to Colon Cancer Coalition, which promotes education, awareness, and screening for colon cancer. Super Mario Advance One Through Three Is Coming To Switch Online On May 25th

The Gameboy Advance Virtual Console has gotten three new games for the Switch Online, and they are set to debut on May 25th. Super Mario Advance, Super Mario Advance 2, and Super Mario Advance 3 will be available for members of the Switch Online+Expansion Pack.
