It was certainly an eventful Nintendo Direct, the Game Publisher bringing in big updates regarding Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Metroid Prime Remastered, and Pikmin 4, Also announcing Game Boy and Game Boy Advance Games coming to Nintendo Switch Online. Let’s take a look at what was announced!
Pikmin 4 Gets A Release Date
It began with one of the most peaceful and beautiful games that will be coming your way soon, Pikmin 4. Pikmin 4’s newest trailer not only brings back familiar Pikmin but also introduces a brand new helper, an adorable dog named Oatchi. Oatchi can help you with enemies, remove obstacles, and carry the player and Pikmin across the water. There is even an Ice Pikmin that can freeze enemies, bodies of water, and more. Fans will be able to buy Pikmin 4 on July 21st, 2023.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3‘s Latest Expansion Pass adds a New Hero and Tougher Challenges
You asked for it, and Nintendo has delivered it. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 gets a Brand-New Expansion Pass. Volume Three brings players a new Lapidartist hero named Masha, and the Archsage’s gauntlet, offering players rogue-like challenge battles. Volume Four of the Expansion Pack will launch later this year, and it will contain a new story scenario for players to experience. Volume 3 will be available on February 15th.

I’m not going to lie. The art style for this game is downright adorable, especially the character designs. Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and The Lost Demon tells the story of a young girl named Cereza, who was an apprentice witch with her infernal demon partner, Cheshire. Players will need to use the elemental powers of wood, rock, water, and fire to solve puzzles and complete their quests. This Spin-Off will be coming to the Switch on March 17th, 2023.
Splatoon 3 Returns To The Place Where It All Began In The Upcoming Expansion Pass
After a successful report, Splatoon 3 continues to show why it’s a fan favorite. The new Expansion Pass will be bringing our Inklings back to Inkopolis. Also, the Ink Sisters will be making their return for special concerts when the first wave of the DLC arrives in Spring 2023. Another wave of DLC will drop in the Expansion Pass later in the year, called The Side Order.
Disney Illusion Island Summons Some Disney Magic, This July.
We got to see more Co-Op Gameplay footage for Disney Illusion Island, and it looks good so far. Each character has a special ability, and the style is precious. The main objective was also revealed, our heroes have to find three magical books and save small furry creatures named Hokuns. Disney Illusion Island will be available on July 28th, 2023.
Fire Emblem Engage’s New DLC Reveals Six New Characters and a New Story
Fire Emblem Engage will be getting six new heroes soon in the Expansion pass, starting with Hector, Soren, and Camilla for Wave Two. Chrom, Robin, and Veronica will be coming to Wave Three. Also coming to Engage will be a new story titled Xenologue, which will be part of Wave Four.

Game Boy and Game Boy Advance Games Are Now Available on Nintendo Switch Online
One of the bigger takeaways from this Nintendo Direct was the addition of the Game Boy and the Game Boy Advance titles being added on Nintendo Switch Online. Nintendo Fans were hoping for the long-awaited addition of the Gamecube, but this will tie fans over for now.
The games can all be played with filters based off how the Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket, and Game Boy Color looked, and you can play locally or online with friends.
Samus arrives on the Switch Once More in Metroid Prime Remastered
If you couldn’t get enough of Samus in her recent adventure, then you’ll love this blast from the past. While we were disappointed to find out that the Gamecube titles aren’t here yet, Nintendo gave the fans something to tie them over in the meantime. The 2002 Classic, Metroid Prime has arrived on the Switch with a Remastered Edition. In this remastered edition, there are dual-stick controls to help recreate the original experience. Metroid Prime Remastered is available now on the Nintendo eShop, while the physical edition will be available on February 22nd.

Fire Rains Down From The Sky In The Latest Trailer for Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
So, you awakened an ancient evil, and now Fire Rains Down from the Sky and Everyone wants you dead. That’s tough buddy. Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom’s newest trailer certainly brings the horror and sense of dread fans have been waiting for. Our heroes, Link, and Zelda face one of the most hellish situations in their lives and Hyrule hangs in the balance. The Latest Direct also gave fans more information about the standard and collector editions. According to IGN, The standard edition of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be the first Switch exclusive to retail for $69.99. The collector’s edition, on the other hand, will cost $129.99 and it includes a physical version of the game, an art book, a steel bookcase, an Iconart steel poster, and a set of four-pin badges.
The new Link amiibo will give players access to “material and weapons, as well as a special fabric for Link’s paraglider. Tears of the Kingdom still will be released on May 12th, 2023.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave Four DLC Adds Yoshi Island and Birdo
Wave Four of the Booster Pass is coming in and it’s bringing Yoshi’s Island in as a brand new race track. That’s not all, Birdo will be tagging along as a new racer! Nintendo also confirmed that characters from older Mario Kart Games will be part of future waves as well. Wave Four will be avaialble in Spring 2023.
