Twin Engine revealed on Monday that the second season of the anime series adapted from Makoto Yukimura’s VINLAND SAGA is set to premiere on January 9th on Tokyo MX, BS11, and Gifu Broadcasting. The anime will also air on AT-X.
The new opening theme music was previewed, “River” which will be performed by the band called Anonymouz. The anime will also stream on Netflix in Japan, while it will stream on other services outside Japan. Crunchyroll has already confirmed that it will stream on their service.
Director Shuhei Yabuta previously confirmed the staff from the first season of VINLAND SAGA, which was previously animated at WIT Studio, will be returning for the second season “with a deeper understanding of the title.” The staff will be working under MAPPA as the anime studio.
Staff members include character designer Takahiko Abiru, scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko, composer Yutaka Yamada, and more.
