UPDATE: It has been confirmed that Lupin Zero will stream on HI-DIVE starting December 16th.
Every Master Thief has a backstory, am I right? Big news came from TMS Entertainment yesterday. Lupin the 3rd is getting an origin story.
Coming this December, Lupin Zero will be a six-episode length anime series that will focus on the boyhood misadventures of the boy who would grow up to become the world-famous gentlemen thief, Lupin the 3rd. Listed below are the main staff that has been announced for the new series:
- Original work: Monkey Punch
- Director: Daisuke Satou
- Series composition: Ichirō Ōkouchi
- Setting historical research: Seiichi Shirato
- Character design: Asami Taguchi
- Music: Yoshihide Otomo
- Animation production: Telecom Animation Film
- Production: TMS Entertainment
It is set in Tokyo in the 1960s, where a 13-year-old boy named Lupin has yet to leave an impression on the world at large as a Master of Larceny. Lupin seeks to make his mark during a period of tremendous economic growth in Japan.
An Official Website and Twitter Account have been launched. More details (such as the cast, OP, ED Themes, and Online Distribution Platform) will be revealed at a later date. The series will have a premiere screening at the Anime NYC convention, which runs from November 18th-20th, 2022, in New York City, New York.

The Lupin the 3rd Series is available to watch on HI-DIVE, and PLUTO TV.
