Resident Evil Showcase: Everything That Was Announced

Wow, talk about a great week for Horror. Yesterday was Konami’s Silent Hill Transmission, and today was Capcom’s Resident Evil Showcase. We’re looking at more footage for the Resident Evil 4 Remake and the upcoming DLC for Resident Evil Village, etc.

Kicking off the Showcase was a brand-new trailer for the DLC for Resident Evil Village. The new DLC will include a narrative campaign that will feature Ethan and his daughter Rose. The developers also shared some background information on Rose, and why she is the star of the new story expansion.

Also included in the trailer was new information on the Mercenaries DLC, which will include a new third-person mode for the main campaign and new content for the game’s action-packed Mercenaries mode, even letting you play as Lady Dimitrescu herself. (Unfortunately, she will be shorter, which has disappointed fans greatly.) The Winters Finale, Mercenaries DLC, and the Gold Edition will be available on October 28th.

Resident Evil RE:Verse is Still Coming Out Later This Month!

If you were concerned about RE:VERSE, don’t worry, because it will still be coming out later this month. Capcom released a new trailer for the upcoming Online Shooter. It has been confirmed that it will support cross-play and will feature locations and characters from RE Village.

Also, an important reminder for players is that RE:VERSE will be free for owners of Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition. Capcom has announced that it has plans for future updates for this game, which includes a roadmap of new content coming to the game Post-Launch. While it will also launch on October 28th, players will have access for an Early Access period on October 24th.

Resident Evil Village is coming to the Mac, Meanwhile, Past Games Will Be Getting Cloud Versions for the Nintendo Switch

Like the announcement from March, past Resident Evil games will be getting Cloud Versions for the Nintendo Switch. Listed below are the release dates for each game:

  • Resident Evil 2 Remake: November 11th
  • Resident Evil 3 Remake: November 18th
  • Resident Evil 7: December 16th

All of the games listed will have demos for players to test how well it streams on their internet connection. Resident Evil Village will be heading to the MAC, you can expect it on October 28th, however, the DLC will be announced on a later date.

New Gameplay Footage has been revealed for Resident Evil 4 Remake, including some familiar faces.

It was the final part of the showcase the moment fans were waiting for ever since its announcement. Resident Evil 4 Remake received a new trailer that featured familiar characters like Ashley, Luis, and Ada. It also featured some familiar foes (including the return of the Chainsaw Man!) Unfortunately, according to IGN, you cannot save the dog. Here’s hoping we’ll see our favorite traveling Merchant (No, not the one from Resident Evil Village) in this remake.

Pre-Orders are available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Each version will have different pre-order goodies. Also, players who bought the Playstation 4 version will be able to upgrade to the Playstation 5 version for free. The Resident Evil 4 Remake will be available on March 24th, 2023.
