It’s certainly one of the rarest things to see during a College Football Halftime show. Toei Animation has announced a unique event involving the University of Southern California‘s Marching Band.
It will be a special halftime show involving the One Piece Anime Series, the band will be performing a few of the show’s opening themes, such as “We Are!,” “New Genesis”, and “Over the Top!” it will take place at the home opener college football game against Rice University.
Speaking of One Piece, the newest film, One Piece Film Red, has taken over the Japanese Box Office. The film rolled past Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time to become the Tenth Highest Grossing Anime Film in Japan. And as of yesterday, it has sailed past 12 Billion Yen in 26 days, making it the second-fastest anime film to do so in Japan since Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train.
An international release is planned thanks to Crunchyroll this fall. Which includes a release planned for the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand as well.
