One Piece Film: RED Reveals The First Oda-Drawn Gift for Movie Goers

Soon, Shanks’ Classic Red Hair will be filling theaters throughout Japan as One Piece Film: RED premieres in August. Now, in a new announcement from the One Piece Twitter Account, a brand new book to celebrate Oda’s work on the newest One Piece film, and as a treat to filmgoers in Japan, they will be receiving the “Volume 4 Billion ‘RED'” book.

The “Volume 4 Billion ‘RED'” book will be given out to those on a first-come, first-serve basis and hold a collection of setting sketches and designs by Oda for the movie.

Goro Taniguchi makes his return to the Straw Hat Crew, it is the first time since 1998, as the director of One Piece Film Red. Taniguchi is best known as the Director of Code Geass and having previously directed the 1998 One Piece: Defeat Him! The Pirate Ganzack! short for the Jump Super Anime Tour ahead of the TV anime premiere in 1999. Tsutomu Kuroiwa returns from ONE PIECE FILM GOLD to write the screenplay for ONE PIECE FILM RED. Toei Animation is producing an anime film with Eiichiro Oda, and the film will premiere in Japan on August 6th, 2022.
