This year’s nominees for the 34th Annual Eisner Awards have been announced, and today, we’re looking at the Manga titles that have been nominated. The awards will be presented during SDCC on July 22nd.
With eight nominations, Viz Media came through with 5 of the 6 nominations in the Best US Edition of International Material–Asia category. Seven Seas Entertainment was included in the same category, and finally, Kodansha was nominated in the Digital Comics Category.
Manga Creator, Junji Ito was nominated in two categories, including Best Writer/Artist. In 2019, he won an Eisner Award for his adaptation of Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein. In 2021, he won two more Eisner Awards, for Best Artist and Writer for both Remina and Venus in the Blind Spot, and Best U.S. Edition of International Material—Asia for Remina.
Manga Creator, Tatsuya Endo has also been nominated once again, his Spy X Family Series is one of the stories nominated in the Best US Edition of International Material–Asia category.
