Horror Mangaka Junji Ito has had a huge year so far, having both of his works being adapted into an anime franchise at Toonami with Uzumaki and then another being adapted into a live-action film called Tomie; His recent adaption of Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein recently won an Eisner Award in the category of “Best Adaption from another Medium“, ComicBook had an interview with Junji Ito recently to discuss his Eisner Award Win:

“The Eisner Award isn’t very well known in Japan. I didn’t know much about it either. But I heard it was a very famous award and I am very humbled by it. I never had any ties with awards like this, so with the fact that I got an American award called the Eisner Award, I feel like all my hard work has paid off and I am eternally grateful.”
