It’s the moment you’ve been waiting for. Marvel Entertainment released the newest trailer for the upcoming series, Ms. Marvel, Kamala is trying to balance her high-school life, her family, and her emerging superpowers.
In the newest trailer, we finally get a look at Marvel Studios’ newest Original Series, and let me tell you, it looks great. Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega-fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels invisible both at home and at school—that is, until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Iman Vellani will also be reprising her role in The Marvels. Ms. Marvel will premiere on Disney Plus on June 8th.

The cast also includes Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha. The Episodes were directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and Bisha K. Ali are the executive producers. Co-executive producers for the series are Sana Amanat and Trevor Waterson, and Bisha K. Ali is the head writer.
The series was first announced in August 2019 during Disney’s D23 Expo, Kamala Khan was created by Comic Book Editor Sana Amanat, Writer G. Willow Wilson, and Artist Adrian Alphona. She first appeared in 2013’s Captain Marvel #14, since then she became the very first Muslim Character to headline a Comic Book Series which is still ongoing to this day. The new visual for the upcoming series is a clever nod to Ms. Marvel Issue #5.
