
It has been Eleven Days since Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen 0 made its debut in Japanese Theaters, it has reached the 5 Billion Yen Threshold and it is already in the same time frame where the Evangelion 3.0+1.0 was when it was released in theaters.
To celebrate the movie’s success and milestone, Toho released a brand new poster to celebrate the film’s new “Big Hit” Status. On the newest poster, it features Yuka Okkotsu, the prequel’s protagonist.
According to Toho, as of January 3rd, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 opened to 5,873,064,900 yen (US$51.01 million) on the back of 4,314,027 tickets sold to attendees since it was released on December 24th, there have been seven films that broke the five billion barriers, and those films include Hayao Miyazaki film’s Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle, the first two Harry Potter films, The Matrix Reloaded, and of course, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train.
