Due to Eiichiro Oda’s Sudden Illness, One Piece takes a break until October 17th

In a new statement from the Editorial Department of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine, Eiichiro Oda’s latest chapter of One Piece will not be in this year’s 44th Issue, however, the issue will be shipped on Monday. The editorial department also mentioned that the manga will be taking a break due to Oda’s “Sudden Illness” and poor physical health, the manga is set to return in the 46th issue, which will be shipped on October 17th.

The series experienced delays in the spring due to COVID-19, the Mangaka had warned that there would be more delays were possible in May as his staff reorganizes the workplace to facilitate social distancing.
