San Diego FC is kicking off a brand new partnership with VIZ Media for Yōichi Takahashi’s iconic manga and anime series, Captain Tsubasa (キャプテン翼)— the first of its kind in Major League Soccer.
In honor of this memorable sports series, the SDFC will be offering a special Captain Tsubasa Ticket Package for the Baja Cup match against Club Tijuana, taking place on September 16th. Captain Tsubasa (キャプテン翼) is a manga series written and illustrated by Yōichi Takahashi. It was originally serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump between 1981 and 1988, with the chapters collected in 37 tankōbon volumes. The series was followed by numerous manga spin-offs, one-shots, and short stories, which evolved into a beloved media franchise consisting of anime adaptations and video games. The manga chapters are currently available on VIZ Media’s Shonen Jump app and Shueisha’s Manga Plus app.
