Yukinobu Tatsu’s hit manga DanDaDan is coming to the stage! This exciting new stage adaptation titled DAN DA DAN ~Occultic Stage~ celebrates the series’ fifth anniversary and will make its debut in Tokyo this August and Osaka in September 2026.
The creative staff for the Dandadan stage adaptation is led by director Ito Imato (Imagine Ito) of the dance troupe Umebou. Shinjiro Kameda wrote the script, Ryo Konishi composed the music, Yuki Noda (Umebou) and suzuyaka handled the choreography, and Shintaro Takemura serves as action director. Additional key roles include art direction by Takashi Ishihara, costumes by Mika Tominaga, hair and makeup by Tomofumi Itokawa, plus lighting, sound, video, and more. It also includes supervision by Shueisha (Shonen Jump + Editorial Department), and MIX GREEN INC.

One other cast member was confirmed to be Risa Yamazaki, who will play the role of Acrobatic Silky. The play will run from August 23rd-September 3rd at the Nippon Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo, and September 11-13 at Sky Theater MBS in Osaka. Yukinobu Tatsu’s Dandadan (ダンダダン) began serialization in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ digital magazine in April 2021 and remains ongoing. As of June 2026, the series has been collected into 24 tankōbon volumes. Viz Media and Manga Plus publish the manga officially in English. The anime adaptation, produced by Science SARU (known for Devilman Crybaby, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off), aired its first season from October to December 2024 and its second season from July to September 2025. Both seasons are available to stream on Netflix and Crunchyroll, with Season 1 also released on Blu-ray.
DANDADAN follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult freak. The two of them start talking after Momo rescues Okarun from getting bullied. However, an argument ensues between them – Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts. To make the mutual deniers believe in each other, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital known for its UFO sightings, and Okarun goes to a tunnel that is said to be haunted. In each place, they encounter overwhelming paranormal activity that transcends comprehension. Amid these predicaments, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to challenge the paranormal forces! Their fateful love begins as well!?
