After a two-year wait, we finally get a new look at the upcoming spin-off mini-series Knuckles. Everyone’s favorite gullible brute is back in a special six episode series, who is looking to train Wade Whipple (Adam Pally) in the ways of the Echidna Warrior.
But that’s not all, the two-minute trailer saw the guest appearances such as Sonic (Ben Schwartz), Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey), Maddie Wachowski (Tika Sumpter), and Idris Elba returning as Knuckles. Also, if you’re quick enough to notice it, we even saw a surprise appearance of a very familiar character in the Sonic Franchise, Pachacamac, the chief of the Knuckles Tribe and the father of Tikal. His appearance certainly raises questions and brought out excitement among fans on Social Media.

Sega Of America and Paramount were quick to confirm that both companies will be giving fans an additional look at Knuckles during Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, when a new TV Spot will premiere during the game (a similar strategy used to promote Sonic the Hedgehog 2). Our favorite echidna will also be making a appearance at Nickelodeon’s specialized broadcast of the Superbowl. The Knuckles series will debut simultaneously on Paramount+ in North America on April 26. Additional territories will follow on April 27, with a Japan release slated for later on this year. The mini-series takes place between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the upcoming film, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (December 20, 2024).
Other guest stars include Stockard Channing, Edi Patterson, Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylor, Julian Barratt, Christopher Lloyd, Cary Elwes, Paul Scheer, Rory McCann and Rob Huebel. All of the key creative team from the previous films will be returning for the spin-off series, including Jim Fowler, the film’s director, who will be directing the pilot episode. It also includes Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, John Whittington and Toru Nakahara, who serve as executive producers on the series. Idris Elba also serves as executive producer. Additional directors for the series include Ged Wright, Brandon Trost, Jorma Taccone and Carol Banker.
