It comes as no surprise. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and its hero, Link, has conquered not only Hyrule’s Pillarman/Demon Daddy Ganon but has broken a new record in just three days!
Nintendo of America has announced today that the Legend of Zelda: Tears of Kingdom has sold over ten million copies worldwide in its first three days. Players have been hooked on mecha-building and torturing Koroks. It has become the fastest-selling game in the history of the Legend of Zelda series.
According to Famitsu, over 4 million copies were sold in the Americas, making Tears of the Kingdom the fastest-selling Nintendo and Switch Game in history. Meanwhile, in Japan, 2.4 million copies were sold in the first three days. Worldwide, it is the fastest-selling Zelda game in history, and it is the second-highest individual Zelda game of all time. We’re even talking about remastered versions being thrown into the mix, the fourth highest-selling game tied with Twilight Princess and Twilight Princess HD.

In retrospect, here is how big the launch was. It is now tied with Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, one of the biggest game launches of all time, which also exceeded 10 million copies in its first three days, which was also the biggest launch for a Pokemon Game ever and the biggest launch of all time.
