When somebody tells you that it’s over for COVID, that isn’t entirely true, especially when you’re in the middle of producing a show or film. Ever since January, there have been five shows that have had their production delayed due to COVID, now a movie has been delayed, and that movie was Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King.
It has been rough for the anime industry due to the ongoing health crisis known as COVID. Three days ago, I had the misfortune to report at that time that two shows have been delayed. Now it has halted production for the upcoming Black Clover Film. The Film was originally scheduled to be released on March 31st both on Netflix, and in Japanese Theaters, but with the impact COVID has had on their production it has been delayed till June 16th.
Joining Black Clover’s delay are the following Anime Shows, included are the status of each show.
- The Misfit of Demon King Academy II (Episodes Seven and Beyond Delayed)
- Bofuri; I Don’t Want To Get Hurt So I’ll Max Out My Defense, Two! (Episode Seven is to Premiere on March 8th, Episodes 8-10 Should Run As Normal. Episodes 11-12 are Undetermined.)
- NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a (Delayed since January 28th, Episode Four Will Air on February 18th.)
- Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible (Delayed After Episode Six)
- Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence (Delayed until July 2023)
