Bandai Namco Teases New Project Involving Akira Toriyama’s SAND LAND Manga

It’s hard to believe that it has been twenty years since Akira Toriyama launched the SAND LAND manga, but now Bandai Namco has a new project on the way that involves this manga title. More Information is set to come on December 17th, 2022.

What is SAND LAND?

Sand Land takes place in the far future, where war has destroyed the entire earth, leaving in its place a barren wasteland where the supply of water is controlled by a greedy king. In search of a long-lost lake, Sheriff Rao asked the King of Demons for help and got the King’s son, Beezlebub, and his assistant, Thief.

Now, this unlikely trio has set off across the desert, facing dragons, bandits, and the deadliest of enemies, the king’s army!

Sand Land was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in May 2000 and ended on August 2000. The series consisted of fourteen chapters and was collected into one tankobon volume. It would be three years later that Viz Media would license the manga which would be released in paperback in 2003, and digitally in 2013.
