We’re almost near the end of the countdown, and a new 15-second trailer features Shohoku High’s Team Captain, Takenori Akagi for The First Slam Dunk.
He is strict, responsible, and considered to be unbeatable under the basket when it comes to his “flyswatter” technique. But what makes him admirable is his strength (mentally, and physically), his determination when it comes to Basketball, and his leadership. Kenta Miyake will be voicing Takenori Akagi.
Here is a list of players who have been featured in the countdown so far:
- Hisashi Mitsui (Shooting Guard, No. 14)- Jun Kasama
- Hanamichi Sakuragi (Power Forward, No. 10)-Subaru Kimura and Kaede Rukawa (Small Forward, No. 11)– Shinichiro Kamio
- Ryota Miyagi (Point Guard, No. 7)- Shugo Nakamura
- Kiminobu Kogure (Small Forward, No. 5)
- Yasuharu Yasuda (Point Guard, No. 6)
Toei Animation and DandeLion Animation Studio are animating the movie. Original mangaka Takehiko Inoue is directing the movie and writing the screenplay. Yasuyuki Ebara is doing character designs and also serving as chief animation director. The series is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
Fans in Japan will be able to catch the action both in regular theaters and IMAX on December 3rd. But that’s not all, on December 10th, The First Slam Dunk will not only debut on 40 IMAX Screens but it will expand to Dolby Cinema Screens at 34 theaters.
