The Autopsy Results for Yu-Gi-Oh Creator Concludes Death by Drowning

There is news coming in from The Mainichi Shimbun regarding the recent passing of Yu-Gi-Oh Creator Kazuki Takahashi.

According to the news company, the autopsy confirmed that the manga creator’s cause of death was by drowning. The Mainichi Shimbun also ruled out any indication of foul play in his death.

As reported by the NHK, the Nago City Coast Guard said Kazuki Takahashi drowned while snorkeling alone near Onna Village. Takahashi’s body was found off the coast of Nago City on the morning of July 6th, in shallow water 300 meters away from the shoreline. The Mainichi Shimbun reported his snorkeling gear was still attached, including an underwater mask, a snorkel, and fins. The coast guard also found Takahashi’s rental car left parked on a road connected to a farm near Onna Village, around 12 kilometers away from Nago City.

Members of the Industry and fans shared their memories of Takahashi when news of his passing was reported on July 7th. Megumi Ogata, who voiced Yugi in the original anime, said Takahashi was the one who recommend them for the role and they were ever grateful for that.
