BookWalker Global lists the English Release for Ranking of Kings Manga from Book Live


Update: There has been an update since this article was published, according to Alex Mateo of Anime News Network, BookWalker Global recently suspended distribution of Sōsuke Tōka’s Ranking of Kings due to errors and inadequate translations. It is currently being retranslated, for readers who have bought the books in English will be able to redownload the retranslated books for free when its reuploaded.

Big news coming from BookWalker Global, Sousuke Toka’s Ranking of Kings has been added to their Store Library, the Digital Book store made the announcement recently on Twitter, mentioning that the first four volumes will be available to buy on February 25th at 3:00 am EST.

Ranking of Kings (Ōsama Ranking) was written and illustrated by Sousuke Toka and was serialized by the user-submitted manga website Manga Hack and other venues since May 2017. Kadokawa published the 12th tankobon volume on December 10th. The series inspired an anime adaption that premiered in Japan on October 14th, 2021, which has two cours (quarters of the year). The series streams currently on Crunchyroll and Funimation also included a dub.

How prosperous your nation is, how many powerful warriors it boasts, and how heroic and strong its king is. These are the criteria that factor into the system known as the Ranking of Kings. The main character, Bojji, was born the first prince of the kingdom ruled by King Bossu, who is ranked number seven. But Bojji was born unable to hear and is so powerless that he can’t even swing a sword. In consequence, his own retainers and the public, look down upon him as completely unfit to be king. It is then that Bojji finds his first friend, Kage, and Bojji’s life takes a dramatic turn…
