Actress Leslie Grace surprised fans on Twitter yesterday with the first look at her brand new Batgirl Costume, and it looks fantastic!
According to the press release from DC, the new Batgirl will star Leslie Grace, J.K. Simmons will also be reprising his role as Commissioner Gordon, Brendan Fraser is on tap to play the movie’s villain, Firefly, while Michael Keaton will appear as an older Batman, a role he’ll also play in the upcoming The Flash. Earlier this week, Rebecca Front, Corey Johnson, and Ethan Kai were also confirmed for the film, but their roles are currently being kept under wraps. Batgirl was scripted by Birds of Prey’s Christina Hodson and is directed by the Bad Boys for Life directing duo of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (who was recently on DC Fandome to discuss the film.) As of right now, there are currently no new details on a release date.
The New Look is inspired by the “Batgirl of Burnside” arc, written by Cameron Stewart, Brenden Fletcher, and art by Babs Tarr. The Trio’s run lasted until Issue 50. If you’re interested in checking out this story, be sure to check out the Batgirl of Burnside Omnibus, on sale now.
