It has certainly been an eventful week for Pokemon Fans, Last Friday, the 5th Generation Remakes of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl were released on the Nintendo Switch, and fans were extremely excited for these titles in Japan, the first time since the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, making it Nintendo’s Best Switch Game Launch to date.

In a new report from Famitsu, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl sold 1.396 million copies in its first release weekend, Animal Crossing: New Horizon’s release was around over 1.88 million copies sold. Famitsu only covers physical sales of videogames in Japan, this includes the sales of Download Cards as well, keep in mind this does not include eShop sales or downloads, which continue to increase every year. This also includes the Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Double Pack sales. Due to the release of these two remakes, Nintendo Switch Sales have increased with 168,000 Consoles Sold, doubling last week’s 87,000 units sold. This pushes Nintendo past 22 million consoles sold, which doubles the 13 Million Nintendo Wii U Units sold worldwide during its lifetime. Pokemon Shining Diamond and Brilliant Pearl are available now.
