In a new article from the Guardian, Singer, and Songwriter Elvis Costello shared with the publication the kinds of media that have made an impact on him and Costello mentioned that the anime series Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! Costello described the show:
“Each episode uses different layers of animation as the girls’ creations leap from the page into their life. The series in total is a tutorial about every component of film production, from storyboard to sound design. It also has a very cool theme song.”

Speaking of the series, Animation Director Masaaki Yuasa received the Medal with Purple Ribbon, which is awarded to those who have made distinguished achievements in academics, arts, and sports. The Japanese Government announced the 808 recipients of the medal of honor for the fall of 2021.
Also included was the 66-year-old Live-Action Director Kiyoshi Kurosawa, Kurosawa recently won the Best Director Award at last year’s Venice International Film Festival for his film, Wife of a Spy, and 53-year-old actor Seiyou Uchino who has starred in the live-action drama/film adaptation of Fumi Yoshinaga’s cooking-themed manga What Did You Eat Yesterday?
The Animation Studio Science SARU, which was established by producer Eunyoung Choi and Yuasa, has posted a congratulatory message on Twitter. However, Masaaki Yuasa did not comment on his Personal Twitter account. Yuasa’s new film, Inu-Oh already premiered at the 78th Venice International Film Festival in September 2021. After the Japanese premiere screening at the Tokyo International Film Festival 2021 on November 3rd, it will be released in Japanese theaters in the early summer of 2022.
Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! Is available to watch on Crunchyroll and in May it was confirmed that the series would be coming soon to Blu-Ray, Digital, and Digital Download. Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! Is adapted from the manga series created by Sumito Ōwara, which was serialized in Shogakukan’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Big Comic Spirits since 2016 and has been collected in six tankōbon volumes as of October 2021. Dark Horse Comics announced the acquisition of the manga for the English release in March 2020, the third volume is set to be released on December 8th.
