GKIDS announced on Tuesday that it would be bringing Mamoru Hosoda and Studio Chizu’s BELLE (Ryū to Sobakasu no Hime) to the United States for a Special Screening Event on January 14th, 2022. The film will screen in English and Japanese with English subtitles. Belle made its debut in Japan on July 16th, with the film earning 6,397,159,950 yen (about US$56.44 million) according to Anime News Network, it has become Hosoda’s Highest-Grossing Film with the film having IMAX screenings in 38 theaters throughout Japan, and preparing for MX4D screenings on October 22nd.

In June, GKIDS acquired the North American distribution rights for Studio Chizu’s BELLE, which also handled the distribution of Hosoda’s other film, Mirai. The Company recently released two new teasers to celebrate the announcement of the January Screening.
