The biggest battle is about to begin on Netflix with Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre on September 30th, but for now, it’s time to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Keisuke Itagaki’s Martial Arts Manga Series Baki. In this week’s Weekly Shonen Champion, Akita Shoten announced that it would be holding the “30th Anniversary Commemorative The Earth’s Strongest Baki Exhibition! in Tokyo Dome City” at the Tokyo Dome City’s Gallery AaMo from March 5th to April 17th, 2022.

The first installment takes us through the Manga’s first series Baki the Grappler which was serialized in the magazine in October 1991, then it follows up with its sequels Baki (199-2005), Baki Hanma (2006-2012), Baki-Dou (2014-2018), and Bakidou (2018-ongoing). Because the “Underground Arena” takes place on the sixth floor of the Tokyo Dome, the Baki series and the Baseball Arena are teaming up for the first time for the largest exhibition ever.
In addition to a life-size figure of Baki Hanma, and a diorama of Baki’s house, this exhibition will also feature a full-scale “underground arena” to be built through crowdfunding. The crowdfunding campaign for the goal of 2,200,000 yen (19,730 USD) will be held on Campfire from October 8th to November 27th, 2021.

Baki the Grappler was originally serialized in the Shonen magazine, Weekly Shonen Champion from 1991 to 1999 and collected into 42 Tankobon volumes. The series inspired five sequels: Baki (1999 to 2005), Baki Hanma (2005 to 2012), Baki-Dou (2014 to 2018), Bakidou (2018 to 2023), Baki Rahen (2023), and one spin-off manga titled Gaiden. The series also consists of two OVAs, two anime adaptations, a video game adaptation, and two mobile games.
