Funimation announced today that it will be involved in a brand new Anime Adaption Project with LIDEN FILMS ( Known for Tokyo Revengers, The Heroic Legend of Arslan) called Tribe Nine, set to be released in January 2022.
In regards to the Anime, the Director involved in the project will be Yu Aoki, which was confirmed during a special Youtube Live Event involving Too Kyo and Akatsuki, which were showing off more from the fictional Neo Tokyo setting and the world of the upcoming franchise. A mobile smartphone game was also revealed.
The Tribe Nine Gaming project was announced back in 2020, with a concept trailer from Too Kyo and Kazutaka Kodaka (Danganronpa, Akudama Drive). The Developmental team isn’t a stranger to anime, it was involved in the anime Akudama Drive and their games, Death Come True and World’s End Club. The premise of the series is about different groups throughout the city of Tokyo take part in matches of extreme baseball, which end up being more like action-packed showdowns than anything else.
