John Lewis’s RUN: Book One debuts in the Top 15 of August’s NPD Bookscan Chart for Adult Graphic Novels

While Manga continues to dominate the Adult Graphic Novels Bookscan Chart for another month, it was Rep. John Lewis’ newest Graphic Memoir RUN: Book One that made its first debut on the Top Twenty, and it was one of eight august releases that are showing that readers are beginning to diversify. RUN tells the story of Lewis‘ experiences in 1965 – 1966 after the passing of the Voting Rights Act, and the struggles of the civil rights movement as a whole.

It included these manga titles like Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba, Chainsaw Man, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, The Promised Neverland, Haikyu!!, Komi Can’t Communicate, and finally, Junji Ito’s newest Horror Story, Sensor. RUN is a follow-up of Lewis’ Graphic Novel Trilogy, March, but has a new artist and publisher.

One more Manga that has been getting attention was Dark Horse’s Deluxe Edition of Kentaro Miura’s Berserk, that is because of the news of Miura’s final chapter being included in this year’s eighteenth issue of Hakusensha’s Young Animal Magazine, which goes on sale September 10th.
