
Recently the JCA announced the winners of the 50th Annual Japanese Cartoonist Association Awards and it was Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba that won the Grand Prize.
The Japanese Cartoonist Association established the awards in 1972 to honor the Outstanding works to promote the spread of manga culture and the improvement and development of the manga world. As mentioned earlier, Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has been announced the Grand Prize Winner in the Comic Category, while in the Cartoon Category it was Joruju Piroshiki’s Self-Published work “NEW NORMAL” that also won the Grand Prize. The prize money for the Grand Prize is 500,000 yen (about 4,500 USD), and the award ceremony will be held at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo on October 1st.
