Things get Spooky in the Newest Spring Anime, Shadows House

Another Anime that is currently streaming in Funimation’s Spring Line-Up, Shadows House is a Gothic Tale about Shadow People who live an Aristocratic life with dolls who serve them as Servants and Public Faces. Adapted from the manga by the same name, illustrated and written by the duo Somato, was first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine in September 2018 (the series is still ongoing,) and currently has Seven Tankōbon Volumes published.

The series is currently available to stream on Funimation, but Aniplex streamed the creditless OP and Ending Videos from the new show. the opening theme was performed by the series music composer, Kenichirou Suehiro which was titled “A Hollow Shadow“. Meanwhile, the Ending theme titled “Nainai” was performed by J-Pop Artist ReoNa.


To sweeten the deal, Aniplex has released a special illustration for the upcoming Blu-Ray release, The home video release sports a cover drawn by series character designer Chizuko Kusakabe. The limited-edition release will include a collection of art and setting materials, as well as a 4-page manga and illustration card, both penned by Shadows House creator Somato. The Blu-ray is set to be released on June 23rd in Japan. Also on the same day, the Soundtrack will be released along liner notes by Suehiro.
