The Best Animated Features Category gets a huge boost from International Contenders

The 93rd Annual Academy Awards is about to get even more interesting as new contenders have entered the battle for Best Animated Feature, Entertainment websites such as The Wrap and Cartoon Brew have recently confirmed that the field assumed to be the smallest field of entries in years got a huge awakening when the size of the race has doubled, going from Thirteen to Twenty-Seven since January 15th.

Cartoon Brew also confirmed that the category for Best Short has 96 entries, including the newest short by former Pixar Animator Frank E. Abney III titled Canvas. Back to the subject on hand, this is monumental and fascinating; we’re seeing animated feature films from places such as Poland, Latvia, Denmark, South Korea, and Croatia. Pixar’s “Soul,” Cartoon Saloon’s “Wolfwalkers” and GKIDS’ “Earwig and the Witch” among the ones that were previously announced, below is a list of Animated Features that have joined the race for Best Animated Feature.
