Netflix unveils newest Anime Slate for 2021.
In a surprise presentation from Netflix’s Anime Festival, the Streaming Company announced sixteen new titles that will be coming in 2021. The event was hosted by Hisanori Yoshida, with special guest Rio Uchida (Best known for her role on the Kamen Rider series, Kamen Rider: Drive.)
The announcements were made in Alphabetical Order, the information, images were provided by Netflix:
We’ve seen plenty of strong fighters Baki has come up against, but this time Baki will finally be facing his father, Yujiro Hanma, known to many as “The Ogre.” But this battle will be reaching a climax in the third season in next year’s season titled “Son of Ogre,” Mangaka Keisuke Itagaki drew a beautiful illustration for the announcement.
B- The Beginning: Succession
The Popular ONA (Original Net Animation)’s Second Season will be premiering in 2021 while it didn’t show any new footage, Production I.G. showed two images to tease what to expect for the new season.
“In a world powered by advanced technology, crime and action unfold in the archipelagic nation of Cremona. Koku, the protagonist. Keith, the legendary investigator of the royal police force RIS. A mysterious criminal organization. A wide variety of characters race through the fortified city as it is beset by the serial killer, Killer B, and a chain of crimes in this suspense drama by director Kazuto Nakazawa and Production I.G.“
It almost seemed to have dropped off the face of the Earth when it was first announced, but then finally we got confirmation that Yasuhiro Irie‘s four-episode Series Eden will be premiering in May 2021. Netflix released a new visual (on the Left of this Paragraph) and a new trailer.
“Thousands of years in the future, where a city known as “Eden 3” is inhabited solely by robots whose former masters vanished a long time ago. On a routine assignment, two farming robots accidentally awaken a human baby girl from stasis questioning all they were taught to believe — that humans were nothing more than a forbidden ancient myth. Together, the two robots secretly raise the child in a safe haven outside Eden.”
Godzilla: Singular Point
Another anticipated anime that fans have been looking forward to is Godzilla: Singular Point. With Studio Orange and BONES at the helm of animation production, it immediately roared into the presentation by making its presence known immediately, featuring Character designs by Kazue Kato and a brand new Godzilla design by Ghibli animator, Eiji Yamamori, it is set to debut in April 2021.
Another new anime adaption that will be coming to Netflix is High-Rise Invasion, adapted from the Shonen Manga written by Tsuina Miura and illustrated by Takahiro Oba, the animation will be handled by Zero-G and directed by Masahiro Takata. The new series will debut in February 2021.
