Blizzard’s troubles seem to keep on coming, in a new report from Bloomberg it shows that the Employees of Activision-Blizzard have anonymously posted Spreadsheets of recent pay increases and salaries, the newest example of the rising tensions in the Video Game Industry over Wage Disparities and Executive Compensation.
The Company, based in Irvine, California has made highly successful games such as Diablo, Hearthstone, Overwatch, and World of Warcraft. In 2019, after an internal survey revealed that more than half of Blizzard’s Staff were unhappy with their compensation, Blizzard assured the workers that they would perform a study to ensure fair pay. It implemented the results last month which led to an outcry on the Company’s internal slacking on their messaging boards.
This lead to one employee creating a spreadsheet and encouraging others to share their compensation information. Bloomberg News reviewed the anonymous documents and found that it contained purported Blizzard Salaries and pay bumps, also showing that most raises were below ten percent than what they were expecting following the study. For more on this exclusive, Bloomberg News’s Jason Schreier has more on this new report.
