
In a new report from places such as The Mainichi and Kyodo News+ have recently reported that Japan’s Parliament enacted on Friday a revised anti-piracy law that will tighten copyright control, one that bans the illicit downloads of Manga, Magazines, and Academic Texts, but also covers the music and videos that were covered by the existing legislation. This new law also regulates “leech sites” that provides users links to download “Torrents” of pirated material, the ban on illegal downloading will take effect on January 1st, 2021 while restrictions on Leech sites will go into effect on October 1st.
