Nintendo Confirms Breach, 160,000 accounts were affected

It was announced today that 160,000 NNID “Nintendo Network ID” were breached, account information was stolen. According to Nintendo, the Breach began around Early April, while recommending all users to immediately change their passwords; the company also suggests for users to set up 2-step Verification.

While no payment information was affected in the breach, the unauthorized third party saw nicknames, dates of birth, country/regions, and email addresses. Also, if it happened to be featured in your NNID, your name, and gender. Nintendo has already confirmed that any unauthorized purchases that were made in connection to the breach will be refunded and you will have to change your password immediately.
