“Been Saving this for the right moment since Day One.”-Cisco
Tuesday’s Season Premiere kicked off and fans were not disappointed, this episode was filled with suspense, drama and of course, Action. We’re beginning to see that with Crisis getting closer and from the looks of it this will be the ultimate test of Iris and Barry’s relationship; with the loss of Nora on both of their minds can Iris handle the loss of Barry when the time comes? The Speedforce is calling us in for this new Review!
The episode begins with a familiar tone, the tone of trouble brewing in the air; Barry and Iris going to the Time Vault, it begins to malfunction after replaying Nora’s message for her parents as four months pass, so does the beginning of the episode as Godspeed races in; it is fascinating to see them bring back the new speedster after the lackluster appearance last season. Even if it isn’t the real Godspeed it was a spectacular opening sequence with the Speedster chase and battle.
A reminder to our readers is that Flash began this season with a new Showrunner, ‘Into the Void’ was a strong start for a prelude to a huge crossover event such as Crisis on Infinite Earths; we’re introduced to a new villain (Well, soon to be in this case) with Catlin’s friend from Med School, Heroes fans will recognize this actor, Sendhil Ramamurthy. Sendhil plays as Dr. Ramsey Rosso, who will become one of the Season’s big bads, during this episode we’re introduced to another familiar face that fans of Wally West’s run will recognize immediately and that is Chester P. Runk who is better known as Chunk; in this variation of the character we find that Chester is not only a YouTube sensation but an inventor who accidentally merged himself with his Black Hole Creator! One of the things I love most about the Flash television series is that they can balance humor with how serious a situation can get. Take, for example, Cisco playing the Queen tune “FLASH!” from the Flash Gordon film and of course the return of Ralph Dibny, the Elongated Man.
