SEGA, Sonic Team says that 2021 will be Sonic’s big year.
In March, Sonic Team’s Head Takashi Iizuka announced at South by South West that there was a Sonic video game in development. Game Informer’s Brian Shea asked Iizuka about the future of the franchise, Iizuka was evasive, he wasn’t going to give an update or any clues about the new game either. However, when asked if any similarity for when Sonic Mania and Sonic Forces were released months within each other, he teased “2017 was a big year for Sonic, The next big year for Sonic is 2021. That’s the 30-year anniversary for Sonic. We are now preparing.”
With the movie being delayed to 2020, SEGA might believe that 2021 will be the Blue Hedgehog’s big year but this Geek believes that he will be having two big years.
